Wedding Videography at Oxnead Hall

Oxnead Hall in Norfolk is truly grand and romantic. It is award-winning too, snapping up several wedding industry awards including Norfolk Bridal Magazine Wedding Venue of the Year and British Wedding Awards Wedding Venue of the Year.

This is a very special place with a very interesting history. Every time I come back to create a new wedding video, I always end up finding out more about its history. It has been occupied since prehistoric times. Archaeologists even found parts for axes and spearheads! As you can imagine, the property has changed hands over the years. The Paston family (one of the wealthiest in Norfolk ) lived in Oxnead for over 350 years from 1420 to 1732. The discovery of more than 1,000 letters at Oxnead in 1735 gave an astonishing insight into life in the 15th century. Now at the time most of the alphabet was written in Latin, and most people were illiterate - these letters have a real historical significance. In fact, you may spot a nod to these love letters at the start of Becky & Luke’s Wedding Videography.

Weddings at Oxnead Hall in Norfolk

Although today Oxnead Hall is known as a lavish and luxury wedding venue, looking back on its history, it is no stranger to being an excellent and lavish host. Charles II and the Queen even visited Oxnead with great hospitality. So Oxnead is really suitable for kings and queens!

Over time, following the death of the Paston family, the main house was demolished and the property was taken over by a man named Admiral Anson (apparently the first person to travel the world!). After this time, other families came and went, but after some investigation, famous British photographer John Hedgecoe owns Oxnead Hall! He is the author of more than 30 photography books. He even founded a photography department at the Royal Academy of Arts in 1965! So more creative links to Oxnead Hall. So I suppose it is quite fitting to have some fabulous wedding videographers and wedding photographers capturing beautiful wedding day images today.

Now moving to the modern-day, Oxnead Hall is a luxury wedding venue and can provide accommodation for up to 32 wedding guests and host a total of 200 wedding guests for your wedding day.
