Wedding Videography (Reymerston Hall)
Wedding Videography for your Romance at Reymerston Hall
Reymerston Hall in Norfolk may be Norfolk's newest best-kept secret in the world of weddings. Having said that, this beautifully renovated estate also is packed full of history too, from its previous owner who had links to James Bond 007 and the secret service. But, the romance between Kiera & Gene was definitely no secret! Let's check out...
Wedding Videography Review by Kiera & Gene for their Reymerston Hall Wedding Videography
Ben filmed our wedding day at Reymerston Hall on 22.10.22 - it was a bit of a last-minute decision to book a videographer as my grandparents were sadly unable to make the wedding due to ill health and we thought it would be a nice keepsake to share with them afterwards. Ben replied promptly and took the time to understand what elements of our day were important to us. We wanted an upbeat video that didn't just focus on us, but our guests too and Ben certainly delivered! He was great on the day too - had a great vibe, worked seamlessly with our photographers and didn't take ages getting the shots he wanted so we could get back to our guests. Ben edited and returned a full-length video that covers our entire day and a fantastic 2min highlights clip all within a month. Would highly recommend!
Weddings at Reymerston Hall
So, somewhere new for weddings in Norfolk, I hear you say? Yes indeed! At Reymerston Hall you are greeted by a long driveway at the entrance and the grounds are secluded in the Norfolk countryside surrounded by fields. Reymerston Hall itself is Georgian in design but also blends in the contemporary with its recent refurbishment and additions. The courtyard room has a sense of space with its large windows and glazing and light and airy colour schemes. You can share your wedding celebrations with up to 130 guests. The main house has a host of rooms, tastefully refurbished with a grand but homely feel. Expect chandeliers, hardwood floors and wallpaper by William Morris.
There is also the Stable Barn with its exposed Brick walls and timber beams. This is the perfect spot for your wedding breakfast and wedding speeches. Then you will be ready for partying away in the Courtyard room next door.
From Film to Wedding Films! Some history of Reymerston Hall with its links to James Bond 007
The Georgian building, which is situated close to Hingham, was famously where Ken Wallis (Reymerston Hall's previous owner) kept and flew his collection of autogyros, including Little Nellie, which he designed himself and flew in You Only Live Twice. For your eagle-eyed wedding video viewers may have spotted a nod to this in Kiera & Gene's Wedding Video - one of the rooms is aptly Little Nellie!
The legendary aviator lived at Reymerston Hall for more than 60 years and continued to fly there until a year before his death aged 97. Wing Cdr Wallis, who passed away in 2013, was born into aviation. In the early 1900s, his father and uncle built a flying machine at their home in Cambridge, and the Walbro monoplane, which was tested in 1910, used technology far ahead of its contemporaries. Despite poor vision in one eye, Wing Cdr Wallis obtained his private pilot's license without a vision test in 1937 and made his first solo flight in a de Havilland Gipsy Moth. When World War II broke out, he was called up to the RAF Uxbridge Air Force Base and started flying Westland Lysanders after cheating on his eyesight tests. His exploits during the war included surviving aerial bombings and forced landings, and completing 24 missions in Northern Europe. He then spent 20 years in armaments and weapons research as a scientist and pilot, inspecting and testing enemy equipment captured during the war.
Gyroplanes became his passion after leaving the RAF in 1964, and he is credited with a key innovation that made gyroplanes more reliable. Between 1968 and 2002, Wing Cdr Wallis set 34 world records, including the 3km gyroplane speed record, which he achieved at 207.7km/When he was asked to fly a gyroplane in ‘You Only Live Twice’, having never seen a James Bond film, he said it took 85 flights and 46 hours of flight time to get the on-screen action close 7 minutes. Wing Cdr Wallis sees the gyroplane as a tool for criminal investigation and search and rescue operations, which can hover without the pilot touching the controls, searched for Lord Lucan in the Sussex Downs and took part in the 1970 Loch Ness Water monster search operation. He was also a credited inventor with a 16mm spy camera that could be worn as a watch, a miniature working pistol, and the world's first electric tank car track, 15 years before the original Scalextric.
He received honorary awards from the Association of Pilots and Air Navigators, a Bomber Command Medal and an MBE - and was even featured on the town of Remerston's sign, engraved with the machine he flew in the sky.
What is the Chinese Tea Wedding Ceremony IN KIERA & GENE’S WEDDING VIDEOGRAPHY?
In some modern Chinese weddings, the tea ceremony remains one of the most important traditions, with the newlyweds paying their respects to the elders in the family, who in turn signal their acceptance of the marriage. In Chinese, "drinking daughter-in-law tea" referring to the tea ceremony, often signifies a wedding, showing the importance of this tradition today. The Chinese tea ceremony is conducted on the day of the marriage and sees the bride and groom serve tea to their parents, in-laws, and other family members. Emblematizing the union of two families, it's a meaningful part of the day, generally taking place inside the couple’s separate family homes.
The couple, frequently dressed in traditional marriage garments (the qun kwafor the bridegroom, in particular), will kneel before their elders and serve them tea, with the help of attendants (generally bridesmaids). The parents and in-laws are the crucial donors, and occasionally other cousins similar as grandparents, aunts and uncles will also take part.
The origins of the ceremony go back as far as the Tang in China (618-907). With tea being such an enormous part of Chinese culture, it’s not surprising it’s found in wedding ceremonies but this isn’t just about a love of tea and its infusions. Chinese author Ying Lang (1487-1566) documented current affairs and happenings in society and said: “The tea plant can't be transplanted, and once transplantation, it shall not live. once a lady marries and brings tea as a part of her dowery, we have a tendency to see she is loyal to at least one.”
Today, however, most people see the Chinese tea ceremony as a symbol of the families’ welcoming the bride or groom into the family.
